Grant Acquisition Training

Meet Our First Grant Acquisition Training Graduates

We're excited to share some big news from the KeelWorks community. This month, we celebrated the graduation of our very first cohort from the Grant Acquisition Funding and Budget Training Course, and we couldn't be prouder of what our graduates accomplished in just two short weeks. Poojan Dixit has completed and one other Volunteer has nearly completed the full course curriculum, gaining hands-on experience in grant research, proposal budgeting, and funder relations.

The Grant Acquisition Funding and Budget Training Course equips participants with practical, real-world skills in grant strategy, budget planning, and funding acquisition, skills that directly support nonprofits and mission-driven organizations in securing the resources they need to grow their impact.

Seeking New Board Members

We're seeking experienced, service-minded board members who bring 5-10 years of leadership in areas such as marketing, software development, HR, PMO, or instructional design. Candidates should offer deep strategic insights, respect our culture, and help align best practices with organisational goals. We also value succession planning by developing strong internal leaders who are an excellent cultural fit and ready to grow into future board roles. Contact us at info@keelworks.org if you're interested in joining us!

Associates From Around The World: Iran

KeelWorks is proud to bridge international lines, bringing together dedicated people from across the globe who share a commitment to meaningful work.

Meet Zahra Motaghi, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Functional Lead. Zahra brings her expertise and perspective from Iran to the KeelWorks team, and she's here to talk about that experience.

"I've worked at KeelWorks for nine months, and it has been a meaningful international experience for me. Before joining KeelWorks, I had several years of work experience in my own country, but this was my first opportunity to collaborate with an international team. Working with people from different cultures improved my English skills, communication, and teamwork abilities. I'm grateful to Thomas and the KeelWorks team for their support and trust. I truly appreciate KeelWorks' mission of helping people find jobs and build better futures."

QMI: Moving Projects In The Right Direction

One of the most significant projects the KeelWorks team is currently building is the Quality Management Initiative. Creating and implementing consistent standards is of paramount importance to the KeelWorks Foundation. The QMI is the backbone that ensures KeelWorks Foundation's mission doesn't just move fast, but moves right.

By weaving consistent standards, accountability, and continuous improvement across both PMO and non-PMO portfolios, QMI transforms good intentions into reliable, measurable impact, protecting the trust of every volunteer and community KeelWorks serves.

This initiative brings together multiple workstreams, including PMO Projects, PMO Operations, and the Non-PMO Project Portfolio, to build a scalable governance model that supports successful project delivery across the Foundation. Our Governance and Standards Implementation Initiative for Quality Management is part of its broader PMO strategy to strengthen project management excellence, compliance, and operational standards across its portfolios and operations.

Founder's Message

This month's lead story is about our grant acquisition program. We've never earned a grant, but we keep trying. Therese Cagle, last month's associate of the month has completely revamped the program, creating a certificate course for grant acquisition and a detailed process structure. I am excited about the potential both to train individuals in this field and for the promise it holds for the participants. There is no more valuable employee than those who bring in money. If you can demonstrate that ability, you will never want for employment.

There is so much going on here at KeelWorks, but this is especially exciting.

Thomas Garrod, Founder
